Copyright notice

KaN Learn Hub™ — Created by Tara Whiteside.
This notice applies to KaN's original material. It does not apply to work samples, photographs or documents created by you or your learners — those remain the property of their creators.
What KaN owns
Except for third-party material and content owned by users, KaN owns or licenses the intellectual property in the platform. Where copyright and contract apply, this may include our software, source and executable code, database and learning-record structures, page layouts, original interface elements, original illustrations, graphics and icons, written content, templates, report layouts and presentation formats, prompts and prompt structures, original workflows, the Learning Garden visual system, branding, logos, product names, original educational resource material and documentation.
KaN Learn Hub's intellectual property is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Unauthorised reproduction, distribution, copying, scraping, commercial exploitation or other infringement may result in suspension or termination of access and may expose the responsible person or entity to civil or other remedies available under applicable law.
What we do not claim
We do not claim copyright over ideas, facts, curriculum standards or concepts — copyright law does not protect those, and neither do we try to.
We do not own, and do not claim to own, curriculum content published by education authorities, and we do not claim that any similar app or approach infringes our rights simply because it exists.
Your content and the learner's work
Uploading material does not transfer ownership to KaN. Content you own remains yours; a learner’s original work and third-party reports or photographs remain owned by the relevant rights holder. Having a copy of a report does not necessarily mean you own its copyright.
The licence KaN needs
You give KaN the limited permission reasonably needed to store, display and process your content to provide the features you use, including through service providers and backups. Information handling remains subject to applicable law, the Privacy Policy and relevant data permissions.
This licence never permits selling or commercially publishing private learner content.
Trade marks and branding
"KaN Learn Hub"™ and associated KaN branding are used as trade marks of the operator. We will not display a ® symbol unless and until a trade mark is actually registered. If registration is obtained, trade mark notices will be updated accordingly.
Your limited licence to use KaN
While your account is authorised, you may use KaN for its intended educational purpose for learners you are authorised to support, including in your family, classroom or professional practice where your membership permits that use. You are not purchasing ownership of the platform.
Permitted reports and resources
You may download, print and use permitted learning resources to support the learners you are authorised to teach. You may share final reports and learning records with people you are authorised to share them with. Respect any third-party notices and the learner’s privacy.
You may keep previously exported learner records and reports for lawful purposes after membership ends. Ownership of the learner’s underlying work does not depend on having an active membership.
This permission does not extend to reselling KaN’s proprietary templates or resources, repackaging them as a competing resource collection, or giving others unauthorised access to the service.
Prohibited copying and commercial exploitation
Subject to the permitted educational uses above and exceptions available under applicable law, you must not: unlawfully copy substantial parts of the platform; reproduce, republish or redistribute KaN proprietary content beyond the permission granted; scrape or systematically extract content; copy KaN templates, reports or structures for competing commercial use or resale; reverse engineer the platform except where law expressly permits it; attempt to obtain source code; create unauthorised derivative commercial copies of protected material; extract proprietary content to train or build a competing commercial system; resell account access; sublicense the platform; share login credentials outside authorised users; remove copyright or trade mark notices; impersonate KaN; present KaN material as another business's work; use automated bots or scraping systems without written permission; bypass technical protections; or make unauthorised commercial use of the service.
KaN Learn Hub reserves the right to pursue remedies available under applicable law.
Confidential and non-public material
Non-public technical information, administrative tools, proprietary workflows, unpublished documentation and restricted platform material must not be accessed, disclosed or exploited without authorisation.
This does not stop you from discussing your experience of KaN, writing honest reviews or criticism, or making lawful consumer complaints.
Third-party curriculum content
Curriculum content — including the Victorian Curriculum, the Australian Curriculum, VEYLDF and EYLF — belongs to its respective rights holders. Its use is subject to the relevant licences and permissions. KaN’s own observations and presentations are not official curriculum text.
Victorian Curriculum F–10 content is © the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA). KaN does not reproduce VCAA content verbatim in its paid product interface; curriculum codes, learning area and strand references, and KaN's own indicative analysis are used to connect evidence to learning areas. For authoritative Victorian Curriculum content, refer to the VCAA website (vcaa.vic.edu.au).
Australian Curriculum content is developed by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) and is © ACARA. KaN does not claim ownership of Australian Curriculum material. ACARA logos are not displayed in KaN Learn Hub unless separately authorised. For authoritative Australian Curriculum content, refer to the ACARA website (australiancurriculum.edu.au).
For full source acknowledgement, copyright, licence, modification status and non-endorsement information for each curriculum and framework KaN references, see Curriculum sources, copyright & attribution.
Reports and exports
KaN-generated reports and printable materials include a notice such as "Generated using KaN Learn Hub™". The © notice on those materials covers KaN's original formatting and material only — never the learner's underlying work.
Reporting infringement
If you believe material on KaN Learn Hub infringes your intellectual property, tell us using the Contact & Privacy Complaints page (or the copyright complaint option in Account Settings). Include who you are, the material concerned, why you believe it infringes, and your contact details.
Complaints are reviewed by our administrator and directed to: support@kanlearnhub.com.au. Content is not deleted automatically merely because an allegation is made — each report is assessed, and outcomes and status are recorded.
Questions or concerns? See our Contact & Privacy Complaints page, or raise a request from Account Settings (Legal & Privacy).
