Subscription & Billing Terms
Version 1.3 · Effective 21 October 2026
Family membership is A$20 per month or A$200 per year, with up to four active learner spaces. Eligible new memberships start with a 10-day trial after a payment method is provided. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the selected plan is charged and renews automatically until cancelled. Optional additional learner spaces cost extra. Australian Consumer Law rights apply.
Summaries are general information only and do not replace the full document below.
Plans and prices
The current Family membership includes up to four active learner spaces and is offered at A$20 per month or A$200 per year. The annual price is charged as one annual payment. Check the plan, currency, total price, billing frequency and applicable trial or offer shown before confirming checkout.
Only purchase an optional additional learner allowance if you need it. Current additional spaces are A$5 per space per month for monthly members or A$50 per space per year for annual members, billed with the base subscription. Your selected extra-space quantity affects the recurring total.
If prices change, the new price and when it starts will be communicated before it applies to a renewal, with an opportunity to cancel renewal. An updated public price does not by itself authorise an undisclosed additional charge.
10-day trial
An eligible new membership begins through Stripe checkout after you choose a plan and provide a payment method. No membership fee is charged during the 10-day trial.
Unless you cancel before the trial ends, Stripe charges the selected membership price at the end of the trial and the membership renews automatically thereafter. Check the trial end and first billing date shown for your subscription. Cancel before that date to avoid the membership charge.
Accounts on an earlier no-card trial or a separately agreed beta arrangement keep the terms of that arrangement. A no-card trial does not itself authorise a paid subscription. Paid features may pause when that access ends unless a membership is chosen.
Recurring payment authorisation
By confirming a subscription, you authorise the recurring amount and billing frequency presented in checkout, including any optional additional spaces you select, until renewal is cancelled.
Monthly plans renew monthly and annual plans renew annually. Membership & Billing shows subscription information and provides access to payment management. Keep your payment and contact details up to date.
Payment information and invoices
Payments are processed by Stripe. Full payment-card information is entered through Stripe; KaN’s application records hold subscription and payment-related identifiers and status rather than your complete card details.
Use the billing portal from Membership & Billing to manage your payment method and view available invoices or receipts. Do not email full payment-card details to KaN.
Learner spaces
The base membership includes up to four active learner spaces whether or not every space is used. The Example Learner does not count towards that allowance.
Archiving a learner frees an active learner space without deleting their history. An additional paid space is a subscription add-on; if you no longer need it, manage the extra-space quantity in Membership & Billing and check the updated recurring total.
Plan and add-on changes
Use Membership & Billing to request an available plan or additional-space change. Review the proposed plan, quantity, price and timing before confirming. Changes can result in proportionate charges or credits for part of a billing period, as applicable to that change.
If the pricing or timing of a proposed change is unclear, contact us before confirming. A plan change does not delete learner records; if a lower allowance would be exceeded, you may need to archive learners first.
Failed payments
When a renewal payment fails, the current grace period is seven days to update the payment method or resolve the payment. The account’s payment status and access dates determine when paid access pauses.
Paid access may pause if the payment remains unresolved. A payment problem does not itself delete learner records. Contact us if you think a charge or access decision is incorrect.
Cancelling renewal
You can cancel renewal through Membership & Billing without a compulsory phone call, cancellation survey or reason. During a trial, cancel before the trial ends to avoid its first membership charge. For a paid membership, cancellation ordinarily takes effect at the end of the paid billing period, with access continuing until then.
Check the cancellation confirmation and membership end date. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not automatically reverse an amount already due or a payment already processed. If an unexpected charge occurs, contact us so it can be investigated and remedied where appropriate.
If the app cannot complete a cancellation, email the contact below. You can request cancellation even if you cannot sign in or do not accept revised legal documents. We will address the request without requiring agreement to new terms.
After cancellation
Cancelling renewal is different from deleting your account. Cancellation does not automatically delete the account or learner information. Paid features pause after the applicable access period; reactivation or a new subscription is a separate choice.
The Data Retention & Account Deletion page explains information handling after cancellation and how to make a deletion request. Keep copies of information you need independently of paid access.
Refunds and remedies
Cancelling for a change of mind partway through an otherwise properly provided paid period does not automatically entitle you to a refund for the remaining period. You ordinarily retain paid access until that period ends.
This change-of-mind policy does not apply to a refund or other remedy you are entitled to under Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law. We will assess billing errors, service failures and other refund requests on their circumstances.
If we materially reduce or stop a paid service or a change affects your rights during a paid period, contact us about the appropriate remedy. We do not require you to waive statutory rights to cancel or make a claim.
Australian Consumer Law
Our services are subject to consumer guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded. Depending on the failure, available remedies may include having the problem fixed, cancellation, a refund or compensation.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. If an applicable law provides greater rights, it prevails.
