Curriculum sources, copyright and attribution

Version 1.2 · ACARA correspondence reviewed 24 September 2026

KaN Learn Hub is an independent educational support platform. It uses publicly available curriculum and educational framework references to help users organise learning evidence, identify possible curriculum connections, generate activity ideas and produce educational summaries.

Curriculum and framework materials remain the intellectual property of their respective owners. KaN Learn Hub does not claim ownership of those materials.

KaN's curriculum connections and summaries are indicative educational guidance only and do not represent an official assessment, certification or endorsement by any curriculum authority.

KaN Learn Hub keeps Australian Curriculum material outside its AI-assisted processing layer. AI may analyse a learner's own work or recorded evidence in ordinary educational language, but it is not asked to identify, infer, reproduce or paraphrase Australian Curriculum content descriptions, achievement standards, strands/sub-strands, year/band expectations or AC9 codes. Formal Australian Curriculum references are handled separately from AI-assisted analysis.

Where KaN displays an Australian Curriculum content description, it should be accompanied by its AC9 identifier and a link to the relevant current Australian Curriculum source. Content elaborations may be used on the same basis as content descriptions. Learning progressions may only be used as written. KaN does not paraphrase learning progressions or use them in AI-assisted processing.

The excluded materials identified by ACARA include all photographs on its website, videos hosted there, photographs in its reports and other published documents, and resources supporting teachers to implement the Australian Curriculum. Content elaborations are not included in that last exclusion and may be used on the same basis as content descriptions. KaN does not reuse excluded materials outside their applicable restrictive licence without separate permission.

No endorsement by ACARA

ACARA does not endorse KaN Learn Hub or make representations about the quality of KaN Learn Hub. Use of Australian Curriculum material does not mean that KaN Learn Hub is affiliated with, sponsored by or approved by ACARA.

Users should refer to the current Australian Curriculum published by ACARA when authoritative curriculum information is required. KaN Learn Hub's curriculum alignment is indicative and should be considered against the current content descriptions and achievement standards.

Curriculum material and mappings may be updated from time to time. ACARA has advised that its downloadable dataset is not currently being updated, so KaN does not treat that dataset as a permanent authoritative source of truth. Users should follow the linked AC9 reference to the current official Australian Curriculum source.

It is important to check the frequency with which the platform or app is updated and, if the platform or app allows users to download the Australian Curriculum to their portable device, how often and in what circumstances the user’s device synchronises with the platform.

KaN Learn Hub does not display the ACARA logo, Australian Curriculum logo or Australian Government logo unless separately authorised.

With the exception of photographic images and material protected by trade mark, the official EYLF V2.0 document states that its material is provided under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence.

Modification status: KaN Learn Hub may summarise, paraphrase, reorganise or connect EYLF concepts and outcomes with user-supplied learning evidence. Where this occurs, the source material has been modified/adapted. Framework titles and outcome names may be referenced unchanged.

No endorsement by AGDE or ACECQA

KaN Learn Hub is independent. The Australian Government Department of Education and ACECQA do not sponsor, endorse, approve or certify KaN Learn Hub.

KaN's EYLF connections are educational suggestions based on the evidence supplied by the user. They are not official EYLF assessments or determinations made by AGDE or ACECQA.

KaN Learn Hub does not reproduce ACECQA photographs, logos or trade mark-protected material unless separately authorised.

Victorian Curriculum F–10 Version 2.0

Source organisation:
Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA)

KaN Learn Hub may reference Victorian Curriculum learning areas, strands, levels and curriculum identifiers when providing indicative curriculum connections.

KaN's analysis is independently generated educational guidance. It does not represent an assessment or determination made by VCAA and does not imply endorsement, sponsorship or approval by VCAA.

Victorian Curriculum material is not public domain. KaN uses Victorian Curriculum F–10 material under an executed VCAA copyright licence effective 1 September 2026, within the scope and conditions of that licence. For authoritative curriculum information, refer to the current Victorian Curriculum website.

KaN Victorian Curriculum content last-update date: awaiting verification. VCAA website/version-history checked 22 October 2026; that review date is not being represented as the last date KaN refreshed its underlying curriculum content.

General framework disclaimer

References to curriculum and early learning frameworks are used to help organise and interpret learning evidence.

KaN Learn Hub does not:

  • represent itself as ACARA, AGDE, ACECQA or VCAA;
  • claim endorsement or sponsorship by those organisations;
  • issue official curriculum assessments or certifications;
  • determine a learner's definitive curriculum level;
  • replace the professional judgement of teachers, early childhood educators or other appropriately qualified professionals.

Where KaN identifies curriculum alignment, the wording refers to the evidence supplied and reviewed within KaN — not to a definitive statement about the learner as a whole.

How KaN uses and modifies curriculum information

KaN Learn Hub may use curriculum/framework titles, learning areas, strands, outcome names, codes and other reference information to organise learning evidence.

Where permitted for the relevant framework, KaN may produce plain-language summaries, activity suggestions, curriculum explanations or AI-assisted connections that are adaptations or paraphrases rather than official wording. Australian Curriculum material is treated differently: it is kept outside KaN's AI-assisted processing layer and any formal Australian Curriculum reference is handled separately.

KaN-generated wording should not be treated as a substitute for the authoritative source.
